This work deals with the Palestinian struggle for freedom through narrating the relationship between politics and international law during five decisive and historic turning points in the period 1917-2017. It argues that international law is merely a political matter. If it is to contribute to the liberation of mankind, it must be employed in the service of a sophisticated political program aimed at challenging the current strategic system which enhances and supports despotism. This argument is supported by an analysis of the present balance of powers, their historical context, and how the use of that law in a strategic manner has led to reformulating and applying international law as a means of both enhancing and damaging the interests of Israel and Palestine. The work ends by suggesting a number of counterintuitive alternatives in order to surmount the present crisis in the Palestine Question.
