The Journal of Palestine Studies (JPS) pioneered the publication of English-language academic research on Palestine in 1971. It publishes original research across a multiplicity of disciplines, including history, political science, law, international relations, sociology, anthropology, political economy, and literature, as well as gender, sexuality, race, and cultural studies. The Journal, which remains dedicated to knowledge production in the field of Palestine studies, is published quarterly by University of California Press on behalf of the Institute for Palestine Studies.
