The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement against Israel (BDS): A Study in Pathways, Values and Impact
This research project was prompted by the observation that the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement was being prioritized as a pathway for activism in the countries of the global North such as the United States, at a time when official Arab and Palestinian normalization moves were underway. The book investigates the validity of this observation by examining BDS activity in Palestine and the Arab world, as well as in the societies of Europe and the United States.
This research topic raises further questions concerning the types of social groups involved in the BDS movement, the relationship of the movement to the values of freedom, democracy, and justice, and its relations to various Palestinian, Arab, and global struggles, as well as its relationship with anti-Zionist Israeli citizens. The book also discusses some of the impacts of BDS on countries around the world.
